As most of you will be aware, October is National Breast Cancer Month, with 26th October being Pink Ribbon Day.
My son, who is a nurse, is hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast at the hospital in which he works, in order to raise much needed funds for The National Breast Cancer Foundation. He is doing this as a tribute to my beautiful mum, and millions of special women like her, who have fought hard and won the battle against this dreadful disease. While it is expected that one in nine of us will be diagnosed at some stage in our lives, it’s also a very sad reality that very few of us shall go through life untouched by breast cancer. It has a profound impact on the loved ones of those diagnosed. And lets not forget that breast cancer can also strike men.
I’m so proud of the effort my son is making, so I’ve decided to try and help him to reach his fundraising goal by having a giveaway.
So what can you win?
Well!! Rosalie Quinlan has very kindly donated a bundle of her gorgeous new fabric range, along with some signed copies of her not yet released book! How generous is she! As you will probably be aware, Rosalie is a breast cancer survivor herself and would like to do anything she can to help stamp out this disease for her girls.
Take a look at the deliciousness below. I believe I’d be hard pressed to find a blogger among us who wouldn’t love to get her hands on some of Rosalie’s goodies.
Thank you so much Rosalie, your generosity knows no bounds. Also, I know you are very busy, especially at this time of year, so to not only offer your help, but your time also is just fantastic!
When Rosalie donated her goodies to this cause, I was so excited, I just had to share the news with two of my very best blogging friends, Kaaren and Robyn. Immediately they both felt the need to help. Both these girls are incredibly giving, as I’m sure those of you who follow their blogs already know. So, yes the prizes continue!
Kaaren has donated this truly gorgeous box, which is one of a kind, designed and painted by herself. In case you don’t know, Kaaren is a decorative artist.
It would make a delightful notions box. Kaaren also made this cute needlecase, especially for this cause. The fabric is so soft and pretty. She also made the beaded scissors fob, which she has included.
The gorgeous Robyn kindly donated her wonderful table runner, which she recently completed. There were lots of great comments about this one on her blog. Very pretty indeed. She created this herself and I really love the way she has designed the curvy edges. Robyn is also an accomplished quilter who has had some of her designs published in magazines.
There will be several lucky winners, and I’ve asked Rosalie, Kaaren and Robyn to draw the winners of this giveaway. I feel that is only fitting. So how can you be one of the lucky winners?
1: Click on the button below, which will take you directly to my son’s official donation page. This page is registered with The National Breast Cancer Foundation, and is a secure site. From here you will be able to make a donation. All donations over $2 are tax deductable, and you will immediately be issued a receipt from the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
2: Come back to my blog and leave a comment to let me know you have donated. This will give you one entry in the draw.
3: Please take the below button and place it on your blog, linking it back to this post.
4: To have 3 entries in the draw, please publish a post on your blog about this giveaway, and let me know if you have done so.
The giveaway is open to everyone, whether you have a blog or not.
The giveaway will remain open until October 20. The winners will be drawn as soon as possible after that date. Obviously, this will depend on the commitments which Rosalie, Robyn and Kaaren may have during this time.
It’s as simple as that! As women, I truly believe we owe it to ourselves and each other to do all we can to try and find a cure for this cruel disease. Imagine how wonderful it would be for our children and grandchildren to live in a world without breast cancer!
I’d like to thank Rosalie, Kaaren and Robyn for your fantastic contributions. These gifts are truly heartfelt. Also, my huge thanks goes to Robyn for making one of the buttons required for this giveaway. Last, but certainly not least, I must thank my gorgeous son Matthew. I am so very proud of you, and I love you with all my heart!
Good luck everyone!
Julie :)

Hi Julie, I'm new to your blog, but losing my mum to cancer many years ago made me want to contribute, so I've made a donation, hopefully to help with education and a cure of this horrible disease. I'm blogless so can't claim that one but send my blogging good wishes for your son to make lots to $$ towards it and also to yourself and the girls for supporting such a worthy cause.

Hi Julie,
What a wonderful thing you and your son is doing. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am a breast cancer survivor of 15 years. It's not a death sentence if detected early..I would like to tell and remind all the ladies out there to get there mammograms. I was only 37 when i found out. I was so scared. But i had great support in my family. Breast Cancer did not run in my family. I'm the first.
I'd love to thank the lovely ladies for donating the wonderful gifts for the giveaway.
I blogged about your give away and also added you to my side bar that links back to you.
Big Hugs
Pam

WHAT A WONDERFUL EFFORT BY ALL CONCERNED
MY BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER IS CURRENTLY FIGHTING THIS DREADFUL DISEASE
Hi Julie, I have added the button to my blog and blogged about your son´s (and yours aswell)cause. I wanted to donate, but I couldn';t as I don't have a credit card, so instead I donate locally to the dutch cancer foundation for breast cancer research. Maybe this doens't give me an extra entry, but the cause it what matters most, isn't it? Good luck with your fund raising and have fun while doing it! It will be a special breakfast! HI Julie,
I have donated, blogged and posted a link on my sidebar. Good luck to your son on reaching his goal.
I've made a donation - admittedly at the last minute. I planned to earlier but you know how things go. However it is done now. On the other hand there are only a few hours to go so maybe the blog thing is a bit late but maybe one or two people will read my blog.
I have managed to post on my blog - once again very late but maybe we can catch someone. Good luck.
